For Single Moms

Being a single mom has got to be one of the hardest jobs on earth! Hi, I’m Renee Swope for Proverbs 31 Ministries and PE Klove.

My friend Lisa grew up without her dad around so her mom was the breadwinner, homework-helper, chauffer, cook, housecleaner, and everything else. If you’re a single mom, you know how hard it can be.

Maybe you cry when your children aren’t looking because of financial burdens or lack of time or companionship. Maybe you long for someone to help you, but you won’t let a man within 10 feet because you’re afraid of getting hurt again.

Lisa told me her mom dealt with all of that and more. But she also remembers her mom trusted God to take care of their family. She prayed with her children at night and loved them as best as she could. In fact, Lisa says watching her mother’s sacrifices helped her learn to trust God with her life.

So, if you’re a single mom, hang in there. You ARE making a difference. And, if you need some extra encouragement today, visit proverbs31.org.
