Have you ever mailed a gift to someone and never heard if it was received? Hi, I’m Lysa TerKeurst for Proverbs 31 Ministries. My friend told me the other day she’d worked really hard on some gifts that she sent to four different friends.
Several weeks had passed and then a month. Not a word. She was so disappointed and a little hurt. It wasn’t that she wanted to be thanked excessively. She mostly wanted to know that her friends had at least received the gifts. How hard would it be to simply call or even email her? But as we discussed it more, we realized that we’d done this as well, and we couldn’t help but see the parallel with how we treat God. He often gives gifts we don’t acknowledge. The gift of today.
The gift of having a family to do laundry for. The gift of having a home to clean. Gifts we really should acknowledge, don’t you think?
