Can we be involved in activities or service outside of the home and still be good wives and mothers? Hi, I’m Lysa TerKeurst for Proverbs 31 Ministries. Believe it or not, making peace between our jobs or volunteer positions and our family responsibilities CAN be done. But first we have to stop looking to others for validation! Other moms can’t provide concrete guidelines for the way we’re supposed to raise our children. God has a unique and personal plan for each of our families that He’ll reveal to us if we ask Him to. We may be much more or much less active than the next woman. But, that’s OK. God knows what He wants each of us to be involved in. And, God knows our husbands and children better than we do. He knows what kind of wife and mom they need and how much of our time needs to be devoted to them. So, if we turn over each day and opportunity over to Him, we can’t go wrong. What a great article! When I worked outside of the home and my children were small I wished I had more time with them. It's great to hear a balance is possible.
Blessings! Nancy J Locke ...who has two beautiful grown children who turned out great. :D
Thank you!! I am a working momma. It is so hard to keep going down the path God put me on when all of my friends are stay home moms. They just do NOT understand my life. Thank you for reminding me that God knows the needs of my children. He will not call me to do anything that will take away from them!
Mommy in Upstate SC
Thank you for this! I am fortunate to be a stay at home mom, but have been struggling about getting a "paying job". Comparing myself to my friends who may be more actively involved with jobs or volunteering their time more than I. God knows that I need to be w/ my children who are in middle school, which is such a tough transition.
To be a supporting wife and mother, that is my priority. Thank you for showing me God knows what I need and not to compare myself with others. So hard to do at times!
