You’re Not Alone

Do you ever feel like God’s far away? Hi, I’m Renee Swope for Proverbs 31 Ministries.

After a tragic incident in her life, my friend Wendy went through a long period of darkness, fear and loneliness.

In the middle of her struggle, Wendy was reading in the Bible about the Israelites' escape from slavery in Egypt. God had promised to deliver them, but all they could hear was the rumbling of Pharaoh’s chariots chasing after them. And all they saw was the Red Sea blocking their only escape.

When Moses stretched out his hand over the sea, the Bible says that all night God parted the waters so they could cross on dry land. They couldn’t see what God was doing in the darkness but He was helping them just as He’d promised. This reminded Wendy that God was working to carry her through her darkness.

So, no matter how dark life feels, God is near and He’s working to rescue us, too! For more encouragement, visit Proverbs31.org.

Last night was a darkness that seemed impossible. WITH GOD ALL THINGS ARE POSSIBLE. Satan likes to put us in the darkness, and help us loose faith in our Lord. My grown sons are in a face off. One is a police officer, the other is in rehab. The PO will not come into the same room with the other. Mother's Day it came to a head. The PO called to see if we were home, so they could bring their boys over to see me. The other son was here, the last day before rehab. He went thru detox last week. When my PO discovered who was here, they decided not to come, and thru the phone conversation my other son realized what was happening, got mad, said he didn't have a brother, stormed out of the house.
They are both broken because of the others actions. But there is a silver lining to this cloud. Thru many tears and my heart ripping in two, their daddy talking with each one, they have both said they still love one another. It will take time, but I know the Lord will bring these two back into my home together, and we will celebrate a Mother's day together. They were so close, choices have driven them apart. But God is working a miracle right now and people are praying across the country for his recovery. He has rediscovered God, and friends that believe, and want to help him. Thank you Lord! I am never alone, and my sons aren't, you aren't either, if you put God in the equasion!
