Each of us has the desire to be wanted, loved, and chosen. Hi, I’m Lysa TerKeurst for Proverbs 31 Ministries. I learned this concept at an early age during gym class. It was so stressful when the two team captains chose their teammates. I hated that feeling of everyone else getting picked while I was passed over round after round.
I‘ve learned over the years that the answer to our deepest desires is not the seemingly perfect life. Not being chosen first for the team. Not having the most romantic spouse or the most well behaved kids. Not the bigger house. Not the better job.
The answer to our deepest desires is making the choice to recognize that God is close. Whether we’re out for dinner, on the playground with our kids, or sitting alone in our den – God is there. Loving. Assuring. Teaching. And Choosing to spend time with us. For more encouragement visit proverbs31.org.
