If the thought of having others over for Thanksgiving Dinner is making you have a stress attack, why not try three simple de-stressers? Hi, I’m Lysa TerKeurst for Proverbs 31 Ministries. First, Remember God is most pleased when you bless others, not impress them. Do a heart check and ask yourself, why you are so stressed. Maybe it is because you are putting too much pressure on yourself to make everything perfect. Remember, simple is good. People would rather spend time with a calm hostess who served a simple meal than a stressed out basket case with an elaborate meal. Second, a potluck is fun, and a very acceptable way to celebrate. Ask each person to chip in and bring their favorite part of the Thanksgiving meal. Finally, make God a part of your celebration by reading verses about being thankful. Inviting God’s presence to your Thanksgiving table is inviting His peace! And when your friends and family ask why you are so much more calm this Thanksgiving tell them to come visit us at Proverbs31.org.
