I was recently asked to pray with a woman who had just found out that her two grandchildren had died in a fire. Hi, I’m Lysa TerKeurst with Proverbs 31 Ministries.
She was surrounded by friends and sobbing to the point she could hardly breathe. She’d just been with her grandbabies who were 8 and 4. She’d held them, rocked them, stroked their hair, and kissed them all over their faces. It was too much for her brain to process.
At first I prayed for the reassurance. I then noticed something miraculous. Every time we said, “Jesus” her body calmed and her crying slowed.
So, I just said His name over and over. The only thing that truly calmed this devastated grandmother was the name of Jesus. What a powerful reminder to us all. No matter what we are facing today, there is such power in simply speaking Jesus’ name out loud.
